Dr. Mislav Novokmet graduated Molecular Biology at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Science in 2006 and obtained doctoral degree in Molecular Biosciences from the University of Osijek in 2013. From November 2006 he worked as a research assistant at the University of Zagreb, Department of Botany, in the group for Molecular Microbiology. In 2007 he moved to industry and was employed as researcher at biotechnology industry at PLIVA Croatia Ltd., Research and Development, Biotechnology, where he worked on the development of biosimilars. After two years of working at Pliva Ltd., in 2009 he moved to Genos as a researcher and enrolled to an interdisciplinary joint doctoral program in Molecular Biosciences, at University of Osijek, Dubrovnik University and the Ruder Boskovic Institute in Zagreb. During four years of work in Genos he developed and introduced new products and analysis and from 2013 he was appointed as Head of Product Development. As author and co-author he has published 19 original scientific papers (H-index: 6, total number of citations: 136) and has participated in numerous conferences. In March 2014 Mislav was on six months secondment as guest scientist at Max Planck Institute for Dynamics of Complex Technical Systems in the group for BioProcess analytics.
