Jelena Šimunović obtained a Master degree in Pharmacy from University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Her Master Thesis was “Oxidative stress role in the pathogenesis of Parkinsonˈs disease”. During her Master studies, she had an opportunity for a visit to the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb through Central Europe Exchange Program for the University Studies, where she participated in optimizing the method for a mass spectrometer with purpose of the analysis of human plasma N-glycome. Since February 2016, she is employed at Glycoscience Research Laboratory, Genos Ltd, Zagreb, Croatia. She is involved in Horizon 2020 GlyCoCan project as an early stage researcher and her main task in this project is haptoglobin glycosylation in colorectal cancer.
